Kentucky Welfare Society And It's Love Hate Relationship With Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul

The reason why Mitch McConnell continues to serve himself rather than Kentuckians is that he’s actually got them snowed and fooled about what he is really about. He plays the conservative angle which makes him popular in the Commonwealth of Kentucky with about half of the people. The rest of them end up getting bought off because Kentucky largely lives off of largesse from the federal government. Kentuckians don’t realize that their state even though its 47th in the nation in just about every major category would be even worse off without welfare programs.

Mitch McConnell delivers the pork barrel spending and government largesse that keeps Kentucky economically somewhat afloat even though it ranks 47th in personal income, 47th in family income, 47th in median household income, worst ran state by Governing Magazine, worst place to retire, worst state for elders, worst state for child abuse, worst state for health outcomes, 41st in K-12 education, 43rd in universities and 47th in educational achievement.

What Mitch McConnell and Kentucky politicians over the years have been good at going back to Senator John Sherman Cooper, Wendell Ford, etc is getting the welfare bacon for Kentucky in the form of federal aid which props up the derelict Kentucky economy. We’re talking about food stamps, government handouts, farm subsidies, military spending at Fort Knox and Fort Campbell, various other government programs that benefit Kentucky because the state is so broke economically that it pretty much go under without vast federal spending.

The truth about Kentucky is that in many ways its an economic basketcase despite having relatively higher state taxes and cities like Louisville that have very high taxes. Kentucky is so broke that it can’t properly fund its educators pension system along with all the rest of its public employees. Think it about this way, Mitch throws the red meat to his base in so called conservatism yet he can buy votes because Kentucky gets $1.51 for $1 in federal taxes unlike states in the more liberal areas of the country like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, California, Connecticut, Washington, Massachusetts.

What happens in those states is that they are taxed at their higher income levels in a way that it goes to the federal government and they are paying much more in taxes than what they receive in government handouts. So in essence the economic creators in those liberal states are funding Kentucky government and Kentucky society since they are paying $1 dollar in federal taxes yet only getting 65 or 70 cents of it back in government expenditures in their states. Plus they have a much higher income level of averaging much higher salaries so they end up paying very high tax amounts to the federal government which ends up benefiting Kentucky and its economically backwards state.

Not to mention a high percentage of Kentuckians are on Medicaid and Medicare and the state doesn’t have the funding to pay for all of that spending without the Feds giving them huge handouts. The same could be said for federal programs like HUD, Section 8, Rural Development, SNAP, etc. If the Feds cut that out then Kentucky would probably be if not the poorest state maybe 2nd poorest after Mississippi. Just like how Kentucky gets huge grants in money from the Feds every time there is some sort of calamity or the state government bungles its finances.

Kentucky has a road and infrastructure ranked as a “D” level by the American Society of Civil Engineers and billions would have to be spent to get the system up to just being average along the fact that Kentucky has been mismanaged for so long that the system is teetering and would collapse without vast amounts of welfare and federal aid. 900,000 Kentucky residents out of 4.5 million Kentuckians are also functionally illiterate which hinders them in being able to live, hold jobs, keep quality jobs and improve their education, training and livelihoods. So effectively about 20 percent of the people in Kentucky are functionally illiterate and can only do the very minimum which leads to poverty and less quality jobs.

So Kentucky gets the red meat from McConnell for the conservatives while he plays the other side of getting the most pork barrel welfare projects out of many of the states right there in Kentucky. I lived in Kentucky and its easier to qualify for some sort of disability or mental issue there than just about anywhere else because they have hundreds of thousands of Kentucky residents who get welfare assistance and government handouts. It’s easier to get a disability determination for being mentally disabled in Kentucky because a long known statute in Kentucky law allows for the state to pay for incompetents and known idiots and allows them the right to obtain a government check for such. This law has been in effect for the better part of 200 plus years in Kentucky.

This law was crafted early in Kentucky statehood in the late 1700s if not early 1800s I cannot recall the exact date but it allowed for a pauper idiot law where people considered to be stupid would be given an awarded check from the state for being morons going back to about 1792. This is why partially it is easier in Kentucky to get taken care of by the state by claiming mental status illnesses and being a moron.

That is the link to the whole story about that law that was printed some 80 years ago by University of Chicago Press.

So McConnell if though he is not well liked by many Kentuckians has a definite advantage of consolidating the Republican and conservative base as well as bringing home the bacon which is why he keeps getting re-elected by the fools of Kentucky. Furthermore, when a state is 47th in educational attainment they aren’t always going to be voting in their best interests.

Louisville: A City Without Real Priorities

White Trash Kentucky By the way suckers in Louisville. Your esteemed ex mayor left you a bill for an arena that you currently can't pay for except to steal more money from the city treasury. 15 million in yearly interest capped with a 17 million dollar yearly principal payment starting in 2020. That's 32 million a year and your tax increment financing system is only bringing in a few million a year versus the 12 to 15 million it was projected to. While they already blew through 4 million in a maintenance fund and had to ask for a weflare check of another 6.5 million this year. Glad you inbred fools are going to pay for it. Oh but wait, you're going to get an NBA team. No other teams are pursuing moving at this time despite what your backwoods mongrelized mayor has to say.

Let's speak some more truth to power about Loserville. Corrupt cops galore, one of the highest crime inner city areas around, etc. The only reason your stats look good is because the city annexed another 500,000 in population with merger. Your streets are falling apart. Most of the South End from Bardstown Road all the way to the West End and down to Valley Station looks like a waste dump. Trash all over the place, run down slum neighborhoods, nasty apartment blocks, people that act like goons and other deadbeat trash. By the way, I lived in your city better know as hades for 4 years. It was like having color return to our lives when we moved out of that nasty city. You really have nothing to offer a family. No pro sports, a college town, no real museums, no culture, no real recreation unless you want to find rubbers on playgrounds or in parks. A thug theme park, nothing really.

Funny that the Louisville TV station Jim Bob employees now censor out the term Bullitt as in Bullitt County. Maybe because its a bad word. You know that garbage infested toilet that is about 20 miles south of Loserville on I 65 that is on the Salt River. Hilarious Louisville!! Thanks for making my day. Just had to rant and slap someone around from Kentucky. A true trash infested and lowlife paradise. I know if I was from Kentucky or Loserville, I would be ashamed to be from someplace that ought to be used as a national landfill. I guess in a way it already is because of the white trash and ghetto types that live there. You should be so proud. 47th among the states in per capita income, 47th in college graduates as a percentage of population, number one in child abuse, number one in elder abuse, last in just about everything else. But that's Kentucky and its that inbred.

Why I can't stand Louisville you might ask? Try a crummy economy, crappy employers all over the city, an incompetent city government, lousy roads, drivers who can't observe basic rules of the road, an iliterate and backwoods culture, an educational system that is the worst I've ever seen. Louisville is like a toilet bowl, its always full of itself and thinks there's nowhere out there better. People from Louisville need to take a reality check and realize their city isn't even in top 50 of anything. Not even among comparable cities. The educational system produces generations of hillbillies who can barely speak or put together any sentence of reasonable quality. Same goes for half of the people in the workforce. The funniest thing is that you're so sure of yourselves and your reliance on sports that the rest of your state is like a Third World country and includes Louisville

What's going to be funny is that in a few years your productive businesses will figure out how to leave town instead of paying your outrageous taxes to feed generations of welfare trash that live in Louisville. They'll figure out that they can make more money elsewhere whether that would be in Indiana, Ohio, New York or maybe even Tennessee, Alabama and elsewhere even with their poverty issues.

Frankly moving away from the toilet bowl called Louisville was the best thing my family and I could have done. We could have probably went to TN but we prefer northern climates. But please do the good people of Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, etc a favor and keep your low life butts in Kentucky. We don't want your Third world mentality in our states. People in all those states have a better standard of living and education systems than Kentucky. I've lived in several states and worst place I ever lived was in Louisville, bar none. A joke of a metro area

Its funny that a bunch of the Louisville fools are getting all over Dave (This was in 2015 for his criticisms of Kentucky and especially Louisville). The happiest day of my life was when I saw Louisville, Kentucky in the rearview mirror of the UHaul that I moved our stuff north. But please Louisville residents, don't move over here because native Hoosiers don't want your uneducated trash polluting our state. Same for a lot of people from Louisville, stay on your side of the river and clean up the trailer park that you call Louisville Metro. You may not all live in trailers but the trailer trash mentality is certainly alive and well in Louisville. When I moved to your state in 2007, I held no preconceived notions or opinions about your state. When I left, I knew living in Louisville was a big mistake. Even my wife who grew up in Louisville was glad to leave. Your city is a joke and nothing but a cesspool. White Trash Kentucky

Kentucky Fried Stupid and One of the Worst States

White Trash Kentucky Its obvious that another stupid moron from Kentucky had to make a bunch of stupid and uneducated comments about how other states such as Indiana and Ohio are at the bottom of the trough like the Great Trailer Park state South of the Ohio River. While bragging about that illustrious dung infested state called Kentucky which does rank the in the bottom 5 or 6 states in nearly every category.

See Jim Bob, there's a thing called the Internet and if you do some research or looking up info including these nasty facts from the federal and state governments, you might end up learning something.

One source I'll mention is called Wikipedia and here's the link of US States by Income rankings.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_income

Notice that when it comes to median household income which means that half the population makes more and half makes less, Indiana and Ohio both beat Kentucky by 10 to 15 places.

Indiana ranks 31st at $46,438 while Ohio ranks 35th at $45,749.

Kentucky ranks 47th at $41,141 and is only followed by Arkansas, West Virginia, and Mississippi.

Guess that blows holes in your stupid argument. Typical illiterate neanderthal from Kentucky that you are.

Not only that but even at that ranking the average Kentucky family makes 5,297 dollars less than your average Hoosier family. Even more interesting is that at the current tax rates a Kentucky family when adding state income taxes, local income taxes, etc ends up paying nearly 7 to 8 percent of their income to the state. Whereas the average Hoosier family pays approximately 5 percent in state and local taxes even in a large city like Indianapolis. Guess that in Kentucky you like paying an extra 1000 dollars in taxes to live in a state that is economically shot. Suck it up buttercup going to be more facts.

Next point that should be that in per capita income (income per person) Ohio ranks 29th at 26,046 while Indiana ranks 38th at 24,635.

Yet the stupidity laced Commonwealth of Kentucky ranks even lower at 46th at 23,462 only followed to the bottom by West Virginia, Idaho, Arkansas, and Mississippi.

Guess that blows holes in your mentally challenged argument about Indiana and Ohio being the bottom 5 states. Kentucky makes it in both categories being a bottom five state.

Here's another couple nice articles about Kentucky being one of the worst states for animal abuse and letting scumbags get by with such abuse.

http://goinglikesixty.com/2010/12/is-it-the-way-we-treat-horses-what-makes-kentucky-the-best-place-to-abuse-animals/
http://aldf.org/press-room/press-releases/annual-study-names-2013s-top-five-states-to-be-an-animal-abuser/
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/35202253/ns/health-pet_health/t/worst-states-be-animal-abuse-laws-lax/

Kentucky ranks dead last in animal abuse. Dead last like so many other categories.
Indiana was 9th out of the 50 states. Kentucky was dead last at 50 out of 50. Ohio was quite a bit better than Kentucky too at 26th.

Here's a nice WDRB piece about Kentucky being number one in the child abuse death rate in 2012.

http://www.wdrb.com/story/11357339/ky-ranks-no-1-in-child-abuse-death-rate

Here's another from 2009

http://www.wave3.com/story/11356703/kentucky-leads-nation-in-child-abuse-neglect-death-rates

Here's another piece on education and how Kentucky is 42nd in education. Guess where Indiana ranks.............4th................Ohio...............29th. Again proving that stupidity is a Kentucky value to be consistently in the bottom of the barrel.

http://www.alec.org/publications/report-card-on-american-education/

http://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-the-best-schools/5335/

Not that Ohio and Indiana are 16th and 22nd in education in the Wallet Hub article yet Kentucky is 41st.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_educational_attainment

Notice that Kentucky ranks 47th in High School graduation rates, Kentucky ranks 47th in Bachelor degrees, etc.

All the while Indiana ranks 29th in High School graduation rates and 43rd in Bachelor degrees.

Ohio ranks 25th and 38th respectively in those categories.

According to the US Census Bureau their latest numbers show that the ten poorest states are by poverty rate

Mississippi 22.6 %
New Mexico 21.5 %
Louisiana 20.4 %
Arkansas 19.5 %
Georgia 19.1 %
Kentucky 19.1 % NO SURPRISE THERE
Alabama 19.0 %
Arizona 19.0 %
South Carolina 18.9 %
District of Columbia 18.7 %

Kentucky was also ranked dead last when it comes to government and government management of state affairs. Ranking dead last. Here is another article.

http://www.courierpress.com/gleaner/columnists/chuck-stinnett/dead-last

Kentucky didn't rank last in any single category although our economic and educational shortfalls were evident. The state ranked 47th in median household income, 47th in high school graduation rate and 48th in percentage of the population below the poverty rate.White Trash Kentucky
